Have you lined your interior floor on your 4th Gen?

Getting ready to pull the trigger on lining the whole interior floor. I'm wanting see if anyone else has done this to there 4th Gen. If you've done this plz post pics, problems you may have had or just general advice. Thanks!!!

If you're talking about truck bed liner I have yet to see anyone do it.

There are air ducts and wiring under the carpet that will have to be dealt with or left in view atop the liner.

That's correct truck bed liner is what I'm talking about. I saw the ducts and I'm thinking I'd spray over those. The wiring all seems to be on the sides. My liner guy says he can do 1/2" to 1" thick.

My bad your right, but I figured it was under the seat so it could be left above the liner. From what I can tell where everybody puts there feet there's no wires. However I haven't pulled all the carpet yet. The bigger problem is on the sides there's a open gap about 1/2" that the carpet hides where the wires are. I'm thinking put some plastic or aluminum backing over/against it to spray the liner against. Kinda hard to explain without pics.

Yeah seen lots of those. Kinda scary when your dealing with a newer car or at for me at least (not to say that's not a nice rig). I'm gonna do it for sure, just wanna iron out the details. Probably have over $35k in this rig and I try to think over every detail first.

I might be doing this too, I'm so sick of vacuuming and crap, it'd just be easier to take all the seats and center console out instead of taking all the carpet out. Why cover what isn't going to be used? I've also thought about putting some thick plastic down to protect the carpets but that would most likely get wrinkled and separating. Not having to worry about wet feet would be nice too.

How much weight do you think it will add?

Why would that weight really matter?

Structurally could it be an issue?

I ask that cause with all the added weight already, I don't really see what another 50-100# will really matter. We're running heavy suspension and have the 4.7L for all the added weight.

Well I've been trying to find weights and it's all over the board from 50-200#. I'm gonna call my liner guy tomorrow and see if he can give a better idea of weight.

I would suspect 100#+ for that much liner.

I still am playing with an idea to completely coat/seal the floorpan. The issue is that with the wiring and ducting I want to make it removable to a degree and yet look nice. This is difficult as the reasoning behind why I want to eventually line my floor is to be able to hose out the entire truck without issue. But again, with what hides under the carpeting, seat rails, mounting brackets, trim panels, ect ect it really will be hard to give it that "factory look" I try to strive for in all my mods.

Yeah the newer "American" rigs are harder to mod for utilitarian style expo.

You will have more heat and noise coming through the floor too. Have you checked out floor liners like weathertechs? I have filled mine with snow and mud.
