What year is your runner and V6 or V8? what year tacoma shocks and struts did you get and where did you get the bushings (part number) for the rear shocks?? I am looking at doing the same thing.

2003 v8 4x4

Stuff came from a 2012 TRD 4x4 double cab Tacoma.

Rear bushings are energy suspension 9.8108G 3/4" hourglass shock eye bushings. Ordered from newegg(cheapest) but they are all over amazon, 4wheelparts, summit, etc.

I have NOT confirmed these will work yet but that is what I found to use from searching on here. As soon as they get here I will be able to let you know something a little better.

Bushings arrived today. Unfortunately I can't get them put in until Wednesday but holding them up to the shocks and comparing to the stock bushings on the fj shocks I have the seem like they will be just what the doctor ordered.

Does this look normal ? The top plates are leaning slightly. Looks like it's just from the way the wraps are on the coils but just curious if it was ok? I'm sure the weight if the vehicle is going to further compress things to where they are flat right?

the ones sitting in my room do not look that uneven

I used fj top plates, compressed the springs and righted the top but until it just wouldn't turn anymore they both have the same amount of threads sticking out so I am assuming it is all the way down. The pic may be slightly deceiving as well if you look at the top bushing you can tell a little better.

Did the ones you have come straight off of a vehicle or have they been taken apart and reassembled? I'm wondering if it's just a settling thing? I don't see why the fj top plates and spring isolators would be causing an issue, do you guys?

I just recently installed the Tacoma coils on my '05 4runner V6. I didn't take any before measurement but I did set my 5100's at .85 and I can tell you it's level with the rear. Maybe a little higher than the rear depending on the surface. But you can barely notice that. Maybe just me. But it is level with the rear stock coils. As for the ride its fantastic. Firm but not stiff or jarring. Less lean and nose dive.

Before was nearly spot on 22" front center to fender. After is a hair over 21 3/4 so it worked out perfect.

That looks good! Are you going to leave the rear alone with the Daystar spacers or are you still going to get new coils? I'm kind of wondering how the Moog 81081 coils would look with that setup. From the numbers I've seen posted, they seem to run 1 to 2 inches over stock depending on who you want to believe. That might make it dead on level.

Sweet.... glad it worked out, now its time to get the 2014s I have lined up with 5K on them. I will have to post a pic when I get done. I just have a budget boost on mine, so I am gonna add that as well and see where it sits. I think it may be to tall for the stock UCAs though.

I'm going to go coils in the rear I just wanted to see were the front was going to be first so I could match coils. The 81081 were what I was going to go with but I'm afraid of them not seating properly. Seems to be an issue with then so I haven't made up my mind yet.

That looks great, what size tires are those? I have a set of TRD Taco struts waiting to be installed but I havent decided what I'm going to do in the rear
