Allignment done and drove it around a bit. It is definitely more pleasant to ride in. It wasn't bad before but bumps are much less jarring. Handling doesn't seen to be much different. Over all it's smoother and I like it.

I love it. So much improvement in ride quality and as a added bonus I got the coils for $25 hehe....get those Tacoma's coil while it's not too hot like them FJ's. They're expensive now. layball:

Alright, I have one more question on the rear shock bushings. Did you use the steel sleeve that the bolt goes through from your original shocks? I purchased the same Energy Suspension bushings for my shocks and just want to make sure.

Nope, I couldn't find anything that said to use it with those type bushings and I didn't even attempt it. Just pushed the old ones out then pushed the new ones in. Silicon lubricant is your friend when installing the bushings.

Figured I would give a follow up now that I've put some miles on it.

Ride is definitely smoother all the way around. As far as handling the truck seems very balanced, I guess. My wife even said it was much smoother.

Definitely an upgrade and well worth the low cost.

doing the exact same set up as Cygan with the Taco suspension, I got all four corners off a 2014 TRD OR with 5K on them for $150...... I am doing the Moog FJ 81081 rear coils. Waiting for rear shock bushings and Moogs to show up. Hopefully be done in a week or so, and hope to get a tad bit more out of the front than Cygan since I have the V6. Pics to come when done!!

I currently have FJ coils with 1/4" (=1/2") Toytec spacers up front with an ARB bumper (no winch). Don't think these quite handle the weight; a little low in the front. I'd like to end up about an inch higher than stock (so I don't want OME or similar with high lift).
Do you think the Tacoma coils will work well with ARB?

Yes they are stiffer but I would suggest some ome springs or others designed to handle the weight.

The way I see it is Tacos have to swap the front springs for new bumpers and stuff just like we do so I would think it's safe to assume it isn't worth the effort.

responded to your pm, I wrapped the shock in a rag, locked it in a vice, then used a pulley puller and socket to press it out.

Replacing a broken XREAS system with2014 Tacoma TRD shocks

i am replacing my leaking XREAS system with a TACOMA set up like yours. What will the outcome be if I don't replace the rear springs? The front is a complete assembly with the Tacoma springs but I only have the rear Bilstien shock. Do I need to get a stronger longer spring at the back to keep the vehicle 2003 4Runner V8 evenly raised once I install the complete Tacoma assembly up front?
Also I ordered the rear bushing just like every one else here but I do not see much of a difference between the original Tacoma rear shock bushing and the new one except for the metal insert in the center which you have not installed with the rear bushing. Is the original rear shock bolt not able to go thru the steel insert? Any help you can give me is much appreciated. Thanks

The rear shock lower mounting bolt for the runner is larger than the Tacoma I believe. As far as the front goes. I think you will be fine. Without rear springs it should be level. If you want a slight forward rake I would add rear fjsprings. They are slightly better than the rear 4runner springs anyway.

I just replaced the rear shock bushings the the energy suspension part number found in this post. The bushing is wider than the shock eye...is this right?

Rear shocks went on easily. The bushing isn't actually as wide as the "post" is long that the shock eye mounts on. I doubt it will matter though...it's maybe 1/8" short.
