Have you seen the movie "Avatar"?

If so, what did you think of it. I just read Roger Ebert's review. He gave it a "A" and said "I felt sort of the same when I saw Star Wars".

From the trailers that I have seen, it looks like a movie I don't want to see. So if your game enough to watch all 2 hours and 43 mintues of it, let me know what you think.

I tried to write a funny/witty remark about the scale but can't come up with anything. I loved the movie beerfest. Never seen gone with the wind.

Maybe it's a generation thing? The older you are the 5 is good, the younger you are the 1 is good?

I was going to leave that up to the person rating the film. If they think "Beerfest" is really great, then 1 star is great. So, rate away. I did like the part in Beerfest where all the girls tops came off and they were running around screaming, but that was about it. 1 star.

I used "Gone with the Wind" as an example. To me a great old movie, would be "Ben Hur". 5 stars.

Made Transformers look like a puppet show with a 10 word script. Very good visual movie and with a real storyline.

its an awesome movie, lives up to the hype in every way. i went with my girlfriend and two of her friends, all three obviously not into the whole 'sci-fi' ish epic type movies and they all said they loved it and it was amazing. i would def go see it. seeing it in real 3D was pretty cool too, i bet in imax 3D would be even better

Pretty legit movie. A little long but very immersive. I noticed that some parts of the movie are shot in regular video and only segments are in 3D, but still very cool

Nope "fancier" plastic ones.

I saw it by myself on friday 1st showing,2nd time with my friend's and niece and then on Sunday with my GF and that's enough for a while but will buy it right away on Blu-ray and I might just have to upgrade to a 46" Tv for it,my 32" just might not cut it.:hungry:

The 3d glasses now are in a league of their own. They are Dolby digital 3d special lenses. Nothing like the glasses you're used to. I have seen the movie and had told my g/f a few days later that I keep thinking about the characters, and wonder how they're doing. She said the same, lol.

I got to check this movie out then. I've used the Dolby Digital 3D glasses before with a short feature film at one of the science museums. The actual depth perception and realism of objects moving on the other dimension is unmatached. Heard good reviews about Avatar on the movie this morning on the radio too.

Saw it the other day...

Expected it to be lame and I was miserable about the prospect of a crowded theater and getting raped on the price of admission and snacks...

However, the movie turned out to be pretty darn cool. Well worth the price of admission. Definitely see it in IMAX if you can, and don't even think of just waiting to catch it on DVD. The animation was so good that 99% of the time it felt like you were watching "real" images.

The Colonel character was a really great villain.

Notice the main character's shriveled paralyzed legs. THAT's a cool camera trick.

Avatar was the shizzzzzz. Didn't get out of the theater until 2 am, but i'm not worried about it. Alien sex is kinky! Go see it! Sickest special effects i've ever seen!

Avatar is amazing! It seriously is.

Don't watch it in 3D though it's a waste and for the theater I usually go to it's also more expensive (normal price is $4, with 3D $6.25). I've seen it in both 3D and 2D. Doesn't make that big of a difference. The storyline I think is great and well worth the 15 years it took for them to develop the technology to do it right.

I'm actually gonna buy this when it's available.
