having trouble finding a coolant temp sensor

I have been to 3 different part stores trying to find a coolant temp sensor for my 87 T4R w/ 22RE. Looking for the sensor not the gauge sender. None of them have the right thread diameter but all had the right connector, I've looked at a few online and they look to be the wrong ones as well? am I missing something here? I've tried Borg Warner, Beck Arnley and BWD ALL incorrect. Any thoughts? it seems like every part i buy for this thing either does not fit or needs to be modified to fit and the local Toyota stealership wants an arm and a leg for everything, like an IACV for $480 or a door window channel seal for $180 should have just saved my monies and put a 350 TPI in this damned thing. :shrug: sorry for the rant :redbrick:

I bought one for my 22re truck at Oreillys a few months ago. It looked a little different than the original but the wiring harness was the same, screwed right in and it does the job. It was around $25. I think they call it their Import Direct brand.
