hazy patch?

Today I noticed a hazy spot of my 4runner. I thought "WTF is that". It looks like a smudge, but just like cloudy paint or hazy. I tried to buff it our with my sweater...but it wouldn't go away. Any ideas as to what that is, or how to fix it?

Could it be tree sap, dried bird crap, or tree sap.....if it is one of those try a remover designed for the removal of those contaminates.

If it is just smudged paint, any 3 step waxing product should remove the imperfection. Mother's and Meguiar's both make a 3 step paint care product that should clean it up nicely. Be sure when applying use all 3 steps and do not skip any and use a clean applicator for each of the 3 different products.

I had an Lexus 250 that had a spot like that on the hood and took it to Lexus and they said that it was bird droppings, I dont know how much i believe that, but I got a clay bar and waxed the spot and it was hardly noticeable. That might help, I hope it does.
