Hi all,

I recently replaced my valve cover gaskets among other things and when I buttoned it back up and started the vehicle I had coolant pouring out of an area I could not see. Tore it down again and this is what I found....

while the car was running all of the coolant drained from the block in about a minute while the radiator and reservoir tank remained full. Thought it was the pipe that runs under the intake manifold but that is fine. Any thoughts?

What engine and what side of the engine is it?

3vze and its the back drivers side (by the firewall) this is right above the crossover pipe

It's possible but most common spot is passenger side rear #6 cylinder but who knows. It's weird that it started after you pulled valve covers tho

To clarify, driver side rear engine is #6.
Also a head gasket is not the same item as a valve cover gasket.
That pic looks to me like head gasket leak.
By the way.
I am not a mechanic I just have a bunch of tools and books to point the way.

Ah thanks for catching that. Between working on fords and using my phone things get mid typed. And I do agree that looks like head gasket. And I know hg and vcg are different I was just stating it is quite strange it started after he did vavle cover gaskets.

The picture is the head gasket on the driver's side. I'm just wondering if anyone can point to a similar experience from what I had done to the truck and the picture I provided. All the hoses are fine and everything starts up but the truck was dumping out coolant from this spot and I really haven't found anything except that mess around the head gasket.
