Headlight Adjustment Screw Stripped?

My 3rd gen is lifted 3 inches with a slight rake to the front so I'm trying to adjust the headlights higher. However I keep turning the adjustment screw but it doesn't seem like anything happens so I'm guessing the plastic tabs have worn out. Anyone run into this or have any thoughts?

If you have a PicknPull in your area, see if they have a 3rd Gen 4runner or 1st Gen Tacoma on their lot. If so, there's a good chance you might be able to grab one of the headlight position adjusters for next to nothing other than your time to go down there and remove it from the wrecked rig. Your best bet is finding one that hasn't bee on the lot too long so it hasn't already been thoroughly raped of it's parts.

Yup. Take a look at this post here:

It's not that they wear out, but the collar that holds the head of the screw breaks, so the screw moves in and out but the light doesn't move. You can't get the part, so either you do a transplant from a junkyard or get a new light.

I had a MacGuyver work around temp fix. I was able to stick a rubber ball between the light and the can that kept the screw head in the tab. YMMV on that one.
