Headlight Aiming

Thanks again to Nashman's for the ever trusty manual. Excerpt below:

The headlight aim moves up when turning the vertical aiming screw clockwise, and moves down when turning the vertical aiming screw counterclockwise. The headlight aim moves right when turning the horizontal aiming screw clockwise, and moves left when turning the horizontal aiming screw counterclockwise.

NOTICE:
The final turn of the aiming screw should be made in the clockwise direction. If the screw is tightened excessively, loosen it, and then retighten it so that the final turn of the screw is in the clockwise direction.

I guess the confusion could be, clockwise from which perspective? While facing the front bumper to the windshield, or from facing the front bumper with the windshield to your back. Maybe that is the confusion. Or maybe I just better switch from beer to vodka!

I think the confusion here is the phillips screwdriver vs directly turning the nut with a socket...basically if you directly turn the adjuster nut with a socket the nut would be spinning clockwise. But if you instead turn the gear/teeth on the adjuster nut with the phillips screwdriver, you must turn the screwdriver counter clockwise in order to make the adjuster nut spin clockwise due to the way the gear/teeth engage the adjuster nut.

Sorry for lack of a better explanation, it might easier to visualize if you are standing there looking at the adjuster nut and after a couple shots of grey goose.
 
I agree with you eddiebx. That was my intent in saying what I did in the above post #20. But then Kenski's post seems to say the opposite via the manual, I think.......here comes the Goose! Be safe and have a Happy New Year.
 
Is this applicable to 2016's as well? I cannot seem to find any bolts that would allow me to adjust the beams...
 
FYI after doing this last night a couple of tips when I aimed the headlights after installing the LED Headlights.

It is easier to take off the plastic cover though it can be adjusted through the holes in it with larger screw driver. I wouldnt recommned this without using an aiming machine. Which is my next project when at FT Benning to double check myself.

Using a wrench: very difficult to do btw. Can only turn a little by little.

Using a larger a screwdriver: this is the easiest. Ended up doing after using the wrench.

Clockwise: will tighten the nut insight the housing lowering the beam.
Cointerclockwise: this will raise the beam.

Found this out after wondering why it looked worse after driving around. Dont have a garage to aim it on. Ended up using a tree.

But you can update your fromt end! Just need awrcked truck to do so without front cap damage. Some highlights, as we discussed great output right under 4000 lumens. Defenitly brighter than my Fenix 1000 lumen flashlight. Great color, actually matches my led light bar for color output. Clockability of the light helps with allowing the reflector to get the maximum throw and proper cutoff without light leaking out the side, with good hot spots and very nice fill. Easy as pie to install. So far seemingly quality components. Will go into more in my write up. I do not like the connection at the light bulb, an exremely bad weakpoint. They need to find a way to reinforce it. I did have to change the polarity of the ligths with the adapter for the computer and antiflicker. No codes or issues. Anyways will write it all up after my trip doen to Ft Benning so I get some good real time use on the highway from country to city, side roads to major etc.. Ill do photos as well with my canon. Hopefully you can come in and help out with the specs to make it more understandable for others! Overall I like them and especially the price over decent HID kits are twice as much.. With many downfalls but more output though not sure if it is alot more in reality to be worth the cost.

I dont see the issue of people getting flashed unless they are aimed way too high! The cutoff is excellent. As well as putting in the rear hatch bulbs hopefully this week! Cant believe the output you got out of thise things. Really loking forward to installing it.
