Bulb wise, I'd recommend Piaa or Razo, but I'm not sure how blue they'll go. I'd stay away from Nokya and those other lesser ones, those burn out pretty fast and some will shatter inside the cluster.

I'd like to put some whiter bulbs in my 07 4Runner, but I'm not sure what brands make a brighter low-beam bulb for the 07's. I've checked into Sylvania Ulta's, but they only offer a fog and high beam option. I went ahead and purchased those two, but am still running the stock low-beams. So, any ideas on a bulb that would look similar in color and intensity to the Ultra's?

i used higher wattage bulbs and had the same bad connection problem on my fogs. the connector on the harness side completly melted.. hid draw 35 watts and high powered halogens draw 100 watts. once i get the harness i will put hids into the fogs and aim them alittle lower.

Here is what I reccomend
Narva Rangepower+50 ultra high efficacy bulb. Gives the maximum street-legal beam performance and best beam focus for longest and widest seeing distance. (no coatings, just strainght light)
Fog lamps: Tungsram H3 Gold Optimizes the performance of the fog lamps.
Both are rather hard to find but are inexpensive and provide the best lighting.

Does anyone have a write up, diagram or "how to" on replacing the headlight bulb? My driver's side headlight went out and I'd like to attempt to replace the bulb myself... and I believe I read it's best to change both at the same time.

I have a 2001 4runner (3rd gen 4runner) and it is pretty straight forward, though
a little tedious with large hands. Pull of rubber cover, unscrew spring(bracket), pull bulb out and replace. Your owners manual should provide you with the procedure for your 2005 4runner. I recommend Slyvania Silverstar Ultra (nice bright white light).
