Headlight problem

I've got a headlight problem, and I couldn't find anything in a search.

My passenger side is pretty dim on low beam, while the drivers side is fine, then when I switch to high beam, the passenger one is fine, while the drivers side goes dim. I checked fuses and they are ok, the bulbs are fine, I don't think it can be a ground problem because both light up just fine, it's just one is dim on low, while the other is dim on high.

If someone could point in the right direction, or know whats happening with this problem, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

This is a new problem. The only thing that has been done before this started happening was a new battery.

That's a very odd problem... My first check would be to see if both lamps are in the right way, and second check would be to pull the lamps and but a voltmeter across the terminals in low and high beam to see if they're switching from low to high the same, or if the voltages are low.

Have you tried swapping over the lamps/headlights from left to right and vice versa? See if the the passenger side is still dim on low beams after the lamps have been swapped.

That should tell you if its a lamp issue or a circuit/wire issue.

And when you do that, check the connectors for corrosion. It's a common problem, and the L/R thing could be a coincidence.

Thanks for the help guys, but after taking out the bulbs and closely examining them..I did notice the previous owner some how fit the wrong style bulb in one the headlamps. The bulb that was in there was a 9007, and I bought a pair of 9004 silverstars and it worked fine.
