headlight problems

Been having a problem lately where my headlights work about half the time. When I cut the switch on they high beam indicator is on. But the lights don't work. But when I pull the switch back to flash them they work. So basically I have to hold the switch to make the lights stay on. I have taken a look inside the column and noticed nothing out of the ordinary but it seems to be a hit and miss problem so anybody have any ideas what it could be?

It's the connection in the switch, you will need to pull it apart, clean it, and as dome of that dielectric grease. I had the same issue on my '87 4runner a while back. Look at this pirate thread too:

So I must be missing something I have taken ever nut off my steering wheel. Tried a steering wheel puller tried yanking it tried pb blaster and it still won't come off. What is wrong? What's the trick to taking my wheel off

Two hands on oposite sides of wheel feet on floor board and pull and wiggle.
