:bash: So my problem is that I basically have no headlights... N with that no fog lights.
I will clarify.. I have working DRL's which I have read to be dim low beams. N the only way I have high beam is by pulling the switch back in the flash position. So that basically rules out my headlights themselves being bad. I did some tests on my switch with a meter n wasn't getting anything at all.. So since I've checked all the fuses n swapped relays and all r good decided to get the switch. Well installed switch n still nothing. I believe that with the fog lights linked to low beam that is why I don't have those working. I haven't done as thorough a check with them cuz they r not such a priority.
This is on a '99 that is from Canada. (Not sure how much difference that's gonna make yet.) Confirmed at the dealer today when I tried to get a second key made....Well only 7 r allowed n I have that key. So I pd $40 for a door key at this point..
I have only had this Runner for a few weeks. Trying to get all the kinks out n get it back to looking n running good.. Loving this Runner already....Have always wanted one... I knew this was a project when we got it.. Junk yard lien sale.... So I have no history other than what is right in front of me...
So would the DRL keep the headlights from working through one of the relays or diode? I will have to see if I can find them.. Been looking at the wiring diagrams to see if I can locate them.. Is there a way to test relays?
If I'm missing any needed info please let me know... N Thanks In Advance for any help... I was so sure it was the switch.... Jennifer
