headlight & turn light wiring adapters

i am having a tough time finding the wiring harness adapters to splice into existing wires for the headlights & front turn lights for my 3rd 97 gen T4R LTD.

obviously its tough to pass inspection w/o lights!

what key words do i hunt for? tried the obvious. or does someone know the actual part #s? all i need are the adapters; i already have the new lights & the existing wiring which was cut so no adapters (bought used). but at this point i'll buy whatever it takes (other than another T4R).

please help! tried all the salvage yards already.

I dont know if I know what you're talking about exactly? Are you talking about the sockets the light bulb plugs into that you want to wire into the factory wiring harness?

I can find them, but I don't understand either. Is it really an adapter you want, or a plug/socket?

its not the socket inside the light assembly. its the adapter at the end of the factory wiring behind the light assembly. previous owner must have cut the wire (i bought car used). its what the light assembly plugs into to connect to the car. i have new, fully functioning light assemblies w/ bulbs & all.

does that clarify?

So you're looking for the stock headlight plug that comes from the factory wiring harness and plugs into the back of the H4 bulb. I pulled a few images from google

For the turn signal connector: I couldn't find any pics for the turn signal connector, but anybody parting out a 96-98 4runner in the classifieds probably has these.

For the headlight connector: Any 96-02 4runner will have this. Plenty of partouts to choose from in the classifieds.

OK. The adapter term threw me--that's just a socket. On the headlight, NAPA sells these which are better quality than the crappy factory socket and work and fit perfectly:

They come with pins and wires which the Toyota part does not.

On the turn signal, that number is 90980-11019 http://www.toyotapartszone.com/oem/90980-11019.htmlThis is just the housing but you can get pins and wires from the dealer--not cheap. That should be number 82998-12440 http://www.toyotapartszone.com/oem/toyota~terminal~repair~w~w~82998-12440.html and you need two.

I can only say I'm 90% confident these are right, so satisfy yourself. The headlight I am sure of. I have them on one of mine where the fog light tap ate through the wire.

Headlight connectors are readily available at parts stores and even Walmart. Just ask for H4 or 9003 style, same thing.

If they carry the Dorman brand,the part # is 84790

you guys are quite helpful but looking at the pics i'm not sure if those are all the right parts. so just to make sure:

here is a pic of the connector in the rear of turn light assembly. i need the opposing connector that goes into the one in the image, which i can splice w/ the cut wires coming from the car.

I think from your pic what you are referring to as your turn signal is really your corner light (next to your headlight and sits in the fender?). I would say get those plug/harness ones for you headlights and splice them in, or solder and heat shrink. On the corner lights I would try finding a junk yard with a 3rd gen and cut them off, splice or solder them into yours. Another idea (which may or may not help) would be to stop by a few body shops and see if they have anything that might work. We have to swap wiring harnesses all the time and any useable connectors like that we'll cut about 6" of wire back from and throw in our "Oh SH!T" bin in case we need it down the road. If some of your local body shops do the same thing, I bet they'd give you what you need.

We get a lot of splice in connectors from Aeromotive but I think they only go back 10 model years so 3rd gens are out. Maybe I'm wrong though.

I need help with the turn signal wires

Hi, I need the part number for this cable shown in as a attachment photo I cant seem to find one without part number also The original connector melted into the blinker assembly so I replaced the assembly but I was unable to find this cable. So I had to tape the wires inside the connector but evey time I hit a bump it comes loose please help. This vehicle is a 1997 4Runner and the cable connects to the blinker on the bumper and I found a listing for a subaru vehicle but it is already sold Gray 2-pin Turn signal Connector Pigtail for Subaru JDM Legacy Outback | eBay
