headlight upgrade confusion .. help

so ive been researching upgrading the lowbeams..
i have an 07 and i understand that the h9 seem to be the
most popular choice.. when i went to buy some i noticed
the sylvania ultras say they put out more light so which is the
better choice the h9 standard or the ultra...

or if there is a current better option for me without baking and buying
an expensive hid kit then post that..

hmm.. well i found that website myself..but theres many different kits and led lights in there.. so that doesnt help much.. thanks for the reply but i need more specific direction to the exact product .. im assuming that you guys are saying that this is better than the h9's and the ultras i first posted about.. again im not trying to break the bank with an expensive hid kit.
 
Expensive? the kits are 30 bucks with a lifetime warranty.

I would get their basic kit, you should need any of the optional junk, just the HIDs and ballast.

ok thanks for the clarification.. lol.. so these will be brighter than the h9's?
and are these kits easy to install? . thanks again.. i really appreciate your input.
 
when looking for bulbs you need to search for highest lumen output,i had the h9 (narva brand) swap for years, very good upgrade from h11. & yes they have around 2100lm vs the stock h11 which is around 1350lm. now the hids put out about 3000lm if you go with a 4300k temp. so they will be the brightest. if you dont mind that it is considered illegal & wont pass some state inspections, id say go for them, its a great improvement, they work fine with the oem projectors, just adjust em properly. install is very easy & alot dont even use the harness. heres some info. http://www.toyota-4runner.org/engin...-hids-everything-you-need-know-then-some.html

Since they get dim over time maybe you just need NEW bulbs? Regular bulbs are already as bright as they can possibly be. Mine are super bright already. I don't see how they could possibly be any brighter or everyone would complain and start flashing their high beams at me.

mine arent dim, i just want to upgrade.
 
Understand you dont want to break the bank BUT if i can install HIDs then so can anyone and its totally worth the money. I have an 06 sport with 4300k Phillips HIDs, now its like im driving a luxury suv with a million times better visibility. You can spend money on bulb after bulb but it wont make much difference at all. HIDs are just worth every cent. You have projector beams so its easy, all you have to do is replace the bulb with an HID one, connect the wires to the battery and stick the ballasts somewhere then just adjust the cut off by turnign a screw - that's it. Just my 2 cents.

For what its worth i got this, used a bunch of discounts n coupons and love them. Very OEM look.

thanks for replying,, i understand hid are better, but the h9 upgrade is quite noticeable from what ive read.. am i right in saying the kit you suggested is around $200... i cant spend that right now..
 
you can save a few bux by not getting the phillips bulbs & using the t4r.org forum discount. Xtreme Digital HID Kits like i said, they are a big difference from the h9 swap. but the h9's are way better than the h11's & a slight bit whiter, still yellow tho, i believe around 3400k, if you get 4100k or so h9s the lumen level go down to about 1900 or less from 2100. still want to save, go with the DDM kits, the cost will be about the same as the h9s but last alot more hours. remember the h9 is a high beam bulb & depending on the brand not rated much past 400-500 hrs of use,(some alot less) compared to the hid bulbs that can last up to 2000hrs. or more. not trying to push hids but heres another good read. http://www.top4runners.com/ja/2007/hid.html

DDM kit is super easy to install. I did it at a rest stop on 476 lol.

Ive had no trouble. If I did have trouble, they replace it for free as per the warranty. Mine are fantastic. They are incredibly bright. I got the 35 W for the low beams and fogs.

I don't know how you can go wrong with them. On what do you base this?

I have had nothing but good results. + lifetime warranty. Did I mention lifetime warranty?

I know [MENTION=72341]NJshadow93[/MENTION] had a problem with his DDM ballasts and got new ones for free. I have yet to have issue with them.
 
I personally have had no issues with my DDM kits. My mom had issues with the DDMs in her car though. The ballast would not come on the first try at times. No big deal, DDM replaced it under the aforementioned lifetime warranty. What I do since they're so cheap is have a spare kit, with bulbs and ballasts. That way, if one fails, I put the spare in while the other is shipped out getting replaced under warranty. The turnaround time is about 2 weeks so a spare kit is a good idea, either that or hang on to your stock bulbs (I do that too). HIDs are the way to go for lighting upgrades in my opinion.
 
I have sylvania silverstar ZXE 4300k. Just regular halogen bulbs filled with xenon. They are considerably whiter than stock bulbs and you will definitely see the difference on the street. They also are more expensive however. They are $50-$60 depending on what size you need
