Headlights, and rear wiper not working!

I have a 2005 4runner sport v8 and I am in the process of installing a Viper system, however I'm having issues but thats another post. The headlights are not working, when I switch them on nothing happens and the light that comes on in the dash does not illuminate. The rear wiper stoped working as well. I heard some wires short once when I installed the system because they touched before I soldered it. However I don't know which. I didn't see any fuses blown, could it be a relay? Please help!

Hi i had same problem with rear wiper.
open and close completely rear tail gate window . In my case that helps

Wow! I wanna thank you kacper. That suggestion saved me a big headache and probably a wad of money. I did the tail gate window suggestion and now my wiper and washer are working again.

I suspect that there is a sensor/interlock associated with the tail gate window that if the window is open, it disables the wiper and washer. The sensor must have become inoperative for some reason--corrosion possibly--and opening and closing it must have activated the sensor. You rock dude!!!

Thank you kacper! I tried using the rear wiper yesterday and it didn't work.
I found your post and opened/closed the rear window and now the wiper works!

Good thing for the search function. I know its an old post but it helped.
Bought my 4runner saturday and the rear wiper and defroster was working. Tried em this morning, nothing. Saw this post after searching, played with the rear window after work and VOILA!!! Both of em are working now.
Knew I joined for a reason
