Headlights seem to be aimed too low, anyone else?

I searched, but only found people with the opposite problem.

The headlights on my 2017 TRD Pro seem to be aimed way too low. If I'm on level ground, they only illuminate ~15-20' in front of me, which doesn't seem normal.

Anyone else feel the same way?

Edit: got a little impatient and went down to take some measurements. They were, dare I say, unsafely low. From 25' away, they were about 12" lower than they were supposed to be.

Left side = correct aiming (maybe 1" too high). Right side = factory aiming.

I wonder if this has anything to do with the Pro suspension, perhaps Toyota overcompensated for the added front lift? Either way least you figured it out.

Btw with the bulbs, I'd imagine Philips would be color accurate but who knows, at least they're not too blue, it's just blue'r than I'd think. For what it's worth I run Osram Xenarc Nightbreaker 4200k in my other truck and am very happy with them.

It takes a Phillips screwdriver and 3 minutes of your time.

Mine were too high and now they are not too high.

bummer. only way to fix that is lifting with an ICON stage 11. definitely gonna need the billet UCAs and upper and lower rear arms, and i wouldn't rule out a Gobi rack and an LED light bar or two just in case the lift doesn't solve the problem.

Great thread....didn't even think of this from a negative standpoint. I remember when I leveled my FJ, I would get flashed all of the time. For my 4Runner, I decided to keep the rake and may have lost some distance for the low beams (too aggressive of a rake likely). So, this will help to get me back to where it needs to be for safe lighting. Thanks everyone!

I thought so as well, but it turns out [MENTION=81106]Cytronus[/MENTION] has the same issue with his Trail.

They definitely look bluer in the pictures I posted than in real life especially the picture looking directly at the 4R.

According to that, at 25' my headlights can be 3" below or above the center of the headlights. They're about 4" below now (were 16" below before!) and right on the cusp of blinding regular cars via side mirrors.

With a lifted truck, and a low car.... this is the nature of the beast. Your truck sits higher and at some point, when you're sitting at a red light, the car in front of you is going to get blinded.
