Headlights suddenly went out on '06 SE 4Runner

Hi all,

While driving to work this morning, both my headlights cut out at the same time when I tried to turn them on. I'm wondering if the manual switch is busted or if there's some sort of wiring problem. Recently I noticed that if I turn the headlight switch a little bit too hard, the headlights would turn off. If I released pressure a bit, the lights would turn back on.

I doubt the bulbs themselves burned out, but in case it matters the bulbs are Sylvania H11 ST BP SilverStars.

Has anyone had any similar problems? How did you fix it?

Check the basics first:
lamps
fuses
relay

But based on your description above, it sounds like you have a bad switch.

Check the connections to the bulbs too. I had that problem when I installed my sport edition lights. The body shop didn't push the tabs all the way.

I'll check this out tonight. Question about relays...what is it and how can I find it? Sorry, I'm a fair newb when it comes to anything electronic.
