heat and radio

I vaguely remember reading it somewhere but cant find it now. But does anyone else have an issue with the stock radio in the summer? Or is it a common issue overall. I am consistently having my radio act crazy when I get in (100 plus degrees inside...its hot out). It will cut out and back on and after about 20 seconds just cut off but if I press the power it comes on and stays on.

Thought it may just be a normal issue.

Also do you have to remove the entire center dash to replace the back lights on the mileage display or will it separate? lights went out also and I would prefer not to remove everything but if the radio is f'd then it wont matter

Never had that issue in a 2007 4runner with the JBL. We got it about 5 years ago and it had the factory head unit until this week when I replaced it with navigation.

I have been experiencing similar problems with my factory radio in my 2006. On really hot days when I start my 4runner the radio's display glitches or displays random stuff and none of the buttons work. After it cools down with the AC running then I turn the radio off and back on and it works as it should.

I've had this issue happen once but it hasn't repeated itself. Went off and on a few times. I hit the power button and it stayed on.
