my mirrors are crystal clear. what do you use to clean your mirrors? that may be the problem.

I believe that is the "Hydrophyllic" coating. After a while the haze disappears on its own.

I don't see it on the windshield or the side windows!

I was having that problem, but then i got a great window and mirror cleaner. I think it is by "gunk". It works awsome. no streaks and no residue, and since then haven;t had that problem with the mirrors or windows

This is not streaks or residue, it almost looks like moisture/droplets on the back of the mirror, you can see from the front.

Sounds like a unique problem to the Salsa Red 4Runners. Probably all that speed is warping your side mirrors.

Take it back to the dealer and have them replace them. No need to screw around with them when it's a new vehicle.

Yaa, it must be traveling at light speed all the time.:driving:

I'm going to try a couple different cleaners and if that doesn't work I'll have them replaced.

well it does the same to my side mirrors when I wipe them, then it just goes away.

i know what you're talking about. i've had the same thing happen to me as well. i think it's just moisture. i've had it in the mornings during spring/ summer times when i kept my truck outside. you can try wiping it off with a napkin or whatever, but it just comes back. like you, i'll hit the defrost and it's gone. kinda a pain, i agree

I cleaned the mirrors and it went away, but this morning with the dew it was back. It seems like temp change causes dew/stain that stays until its wiped away or sometimes the heated function clears it up. I guess it will be a minor inconvenience.

i didn't notice this on my mirror even i parked my 4runner outside overnight. do you have any pictures of the pattern?

My mirrors do it as well. Kind of haze with moisture in the morning (when I park outside). It does not happen until I start to drive.

I wonder if the size or composition of the sideviews are different than most cars?

Maybe they don't get enough air flow, or warm up to the ambient temp quickly. Could just caused by an anti-glare coating?

Maybe uneven temps in the silver backing itself? I've seen this on other vehicles with the heated mirrors where the defroster grid glued to the back of the mirror shows up in the morning dew. I always assumed that this was due to having the grid applied to that area of the mirror causes a different thermo aspect than the surrounding glass (i.e. the glass connected to the heat grid cools and heats at a different rate that the glass not connected to the grid).

Is this the whole mirror or just in the middle?
