Okay I have a 99 Toyota 4Runner Limited with the digital head unit. I have heard plenty of issues with these systems and thought I was the lucky one to get a a system that works until I went to work on my wiring for my radio. After all was set and done the next day I noticed my lights on the head unit was working. I was wondering if there is a fix for this. My second question and the main topic of this forum is I don't have any heat in my truck and I don't know what to do. Here is what is going on:
-No heat
-A Noise (not clicking coming from around the passenger side floor board. More of like a winding on and a.
-My heater core inlet house is noticeably warmer than my outlet house, the heater core outlet hose almost feels temperature less like nothing is running through it.
-The heater control valve on the center of the firewall stays all the way to the left almost horizontal. Is it suppose to stay like that?
-There is no restriction or clicking noise when I move the temperature dail from cold to hot or vise versa.
-Only time there is a clicking noise is when I push a little white piece under the dash with an arm connected to it going to I imagine the servo motor and it only clicks when I push it towards the drivers side, and it doesn't move much and it doesn't stay there either.
-Air does blow through the vents but its cold.
If I could I would take off heater core hoses to flush it but it but it is impossible for me to take the hoses off. I tried for over an hour yesterday pulling by hand and grabbing with pliers and pulling it was impossible. The house didn't even budge! I need serious help cause with hunting season opening up and the weather getting colder (52 degrees this morning) I need my heater. Thank you.
