Heavy Duty Rear Sway Bar Links

Hi all,
I recently made a pair of rear end links for my heavily modified 4Runner, attempting to build upon the great aftermarket upgrades that are already offered. After running trails such as Elvis and Woodpecker in Arizona (YouTube them if you’re not familiar!), I am convinced that these are a superior product. I am offering these to fellow forum members only, if interested. These fit 03+ 4Runners and 07+ FJ Cruisers. The main features of the sway bar links that I am offering:

• Zinc plated, Teflon lined rod end for superior longevity
• The unique feature of stainless steel misalignment spacers on both sides of rod end. In my experience this prevent premature wear of rod end from bolt and nut contacting rod end at full articulation
• Beefy zinc plated threaded steel rod rated at 125,000 PSI tensile strength
• New Energy Suspensions polyurethane bushings (I have tried thermoplastic and, in my opinion, these are too soft to hold up to many episodes of intense articulation). The supplied bushings are notched to carry additional lubricant. Much like Total Chaos UCA bushings, I have found that a waterproof and multi-purpose synthetic lubricant containing PTFE - such as Super Lube - prevents squeaking.
• All new Grade 8 hardware
• Available for 0-3” lifts or 3-6” lifts (please specify when ordering)
• Simple installation with 19 mm wrench/socket.
• Instructions for installation and proper bushing deflection are provided

Awesome, always good to see another option for some quality aftermarket parts. I bought mine from a guy over on 120, but it's cool to see someone over here selling them too!

In your comparison with stock picture, are yours for the 0-3" lift or the 3-6"?

they cost about $50-60 bucks in parts...

From Home Depot or Lowes
(2) Stainless Steel or Gr8 2" x 3/8 - 16 Hex Bolt
(2) Stainless Steel or Gr8 3/8" - 16 thread locknuts (for the 2" bolts above)
(2 or 4 if you want adjustable endlinks) Stainless Steel or Gr8 3/8" - 24 thread locknuts (for the top of the threaded rod ordered from McMaster Carr below)
(1) 3/8x1/2x1-1/2" Steel Spacer (press into the sway bar holes with c-clamp, cut close, then grind flush)
Red Loctite (used to secure ball joint to threaded rod)

From Summitt Racing (or your choice)
(1) Energy Suspension Poly Endlink set for 9-8121R or "G" for black

From McMaster Carr
(2) 60645K341 Steel Ball Joint Rod End, 3/8"-24 Right-Hand Female Shank, 5/16" Ball ID, 13/16" L Thread
(4) 95034A300 Zinc-Plated Steel Washer for Ball Joint Rod End, Fits 3/8" Shank Size
(1) 98957A805 ASTM A193 Grade B7 Alloy Steel Threaded Rod, Plain Finish, 3/8"-24 Thread, 2' Length (cut to desired new extended length, this combined with nylock nut above replace bolt in the energy kit)

all these parts cost about $50-60 ... just sharing info... there is nothing special about making these, it's not rocket science...

endlinks: skyjacker SBE702
moog blue bushings: k6600 kit
swaybar bushings: energy 4.5180g

SSt4r: yes I am still making these. In fact, my links are featured in the most current edition of 4WD Toyota Owner magazine. Holding up great, zinc plated super strong threaded rod, quality rod ends, and a proprietary soft poly bushing that will not squeak (the only error in the 4wd article was that I use Energy Suspension bushings, I did in v 1.0 but invested in much more expensive and better bushings for v 2.0). Mine are holding up great after 3 years. Have NEVER had to warrant any parts out, or complete links for that matter.

I went with the toytec boss kit with the new(ish) 2.5 series coilovers. It has the super flex RCC2.0 rear springs with the boss shocks.
