Hella 500FF Fogs w/35w 3000k HID

All this DDM HID talk got me thinking ...

I have two Hella 500FF Fog Pattern lights on a bull bar. What would it be like if I installed two DDM slim ballast 35w 3000k HID's in them? Yes, I want the light output to be yellow because I drive in the snow a lot. My concern is that on the 500's the light is focused by the glass whereas on the 500FF's that I have the light is focused by the reflector. I'm concerned about the quality of the light pattern and there being too much glare above the intended illumination and thus defeating the purpose of fog lights, doing more harm than good.

Has anyone put HID's (or specifically DDM HID's) in Hella 500FF Fogs? How was the light pattern?

I'm thinking it might be sweet to have 35w 4500k HID's in the headlights and 35w 3000k in the fogs.

Yes, native HID fogs would be ideal but so would a money tree.

This has been done a few times on 500FFs and the 700 models... This should work fine with a DDM kit. I have been thinking bout doing this but its not a priority for me at the current moment but everything will fit and work great in it.

Yeah, I've seen it done on a few with other forums with 500FF driving lights but never with 500FF fog lights. I'm still a little concerned about stray light venturing higher than I would like it.

I say go for it. Your fogs are mounted pretty low anyways.

I put a 55 watt 5,000K DDM kit in my 700s.
