Hella FF50 installed

I installed my new Hella FF50 driving lights in the lower grill. I had to dremel cut out 2 lateral bars of it, but the lights fit perfectly. I mounted them to the bottom of the bumper, and the lights hang down from there. They are also inside the profiile of the bumper, so bad parallel parkers can't hit them. I've only got this one picture so far, but I will get closeups of the lights, and the switch I used next week. Right now I'm using the Hella switch that they gave me, but it is only a off/on. I have it wired so it is either off, or on when the parking lights are on. I've ordered an on/off/on switch that will allow me to keep the 2 circuits I have now and add a 3rd, which will be on when the high beams are on. Since these driving lights have basically no horizontal cutoff, I will have to use that setting mostly. I could have done it with the switch they supplied, but I wanted the control and option of having the lights on basically whenever I wanted. I think it looks sweet!

They are 55 watts each, H7 bulbs. I have them aimed between low beams and high beams. I mainly use them to light up the road while driving on a dark rainy road. The low beams seem to be absorbed during that type of driving, and these help.

I got them from Terry on our Classified forum. Sent him a paypal payment and received them 2 days later. Awesome buy! Took about 6 hours to install. A lot of that time was contemplating cutting my grill. It was a lot of fun to do! I think Terry still has some of those left.

just curious what type of dremel bit did you use to cut the fiberglass or plastic?

I used the all purpose cutter. It is stainless steel and looks like a dull point drill bit. It cut through that plastic like butter. I then used a rotary sanding bit to smooth it out.

They look good. I ended up buying the TF2000's to mount on my front bumper. I sent him the payment a week ago, and still havent gotten the lights. Where in the hell is he? He hasnt responded to any of my PM's.

even closer. If the lights don't look straight, they aren't. I found that these driving lights, if aimed straight ahead, did the same thing as my high beams. So I decided to turn them out a little bit to light up the edges of the road, a place that my high beams don't illuminate very well, especially while turning on a dark road.

I think I'm gonna try to mount a set of Rigid Dually floodlights like that... but mount them into the steel bar below and behind the grill...
