ive got a hunter guard too and a black out runner like you, ill post some pics. but yeah the hunter is awesome. good price too! ive had it for almost a year and just minor touch up on the painted parts was all i needed.

Thanks for the pics Dru. That is very similar to the one i had with the 3 slots and angled up on the sides. Do the sides stay pretty close to the body or stick out far? How much was it?druuu88 said:

the light covers are about 1" or so away from the body of the car. Maybe even a little closer than that. I'm not worried about them hitting the body ever since I did the reinforcements, the entire set up is REALLY solid. The reason it is so close to the body is because when I fabbed up the extra mounts, the only way they would stretch the distance without remaking new steel brackets, was to have the whole bar sit close. I thought it looked better this way anyways, otherwise i would have made new brackets.
Also, the light covers bolt to the main setup (with 4 bolts on each side), so you have some adjustability. I wanted the top to line up with the top of my headlight, I thought it looked the best. But this allows you to move it a little closer/further from the body, angle it more/less, etc. The whole thing can be adjusted by the way it is bolted on.
Let me know if you want me to take any more pics..

called them and ordered it over the phone, but made them give me ebay pricing. Add another $40-$50 in new hardware, and i did it all for well under $300.

While im waiting to see more brushgaurd pics and figure out which one is right for me, i thought id wash her up and post more pics. I got the tint done darker in the rears and added a brow. The emblems were also removed/shaved. Replaced the driver seatbelt since the old one lost its tension and was always getting caught in the door.
Could also use some pics of the rear taillight gaurds, id like to find the best fitting ones that hug the lines of the taillights close.
Just realized i forgot to paint the pipe like you guys suggested...going back out to do that now.

If you tint the backs it will make the fronts look lighter if they weren't darker to begin with.
Tinting the rears will make looking straight into the vehicle darker.

Clemsonfan, the wipers are the Bosch one piece units, i think they make 2 kinds mine were the more expensive ones. They work great, and look clean!
Reveng, yes our front plate law sucks. I was gonna just remove it like on my crossfire but with everything blacked out i dont really need to give the cops a sure fire reason to pull me over.
Tineman, the corners and tails were done "candy black" by my painter. Not sure if thats slang but thats what he called it. Light shines through much better than when i used multiple coats of the tint spray. And i would like to see pics of 285 and lift. After the front and rear brush gaurds thats my last step, an aggressive lift!
Sloan, good question on the tint. I deliberated for days before making my decision. I went with 20% on the fronts first. They were close to the rears but a little darker. So we did 20% on the rears and it came out perfect IMO.

No. It is different for everyone depending on what brand tint you use. With 3M, the perfect balance to match the rears would be 15% on the front 2. The rear windows are dyed from the factory at 20%, and with the light coming in from your front windshield you need the front 2 to be a little darker to alot for the brighter light.
