elo all im new to the forum and new to yota's also .... im from the uk and a few months ago i was in need of a vehicle to pull a trailer for work so i found a manual 1994 3.0 td 4runner (mechanical injection)... went to have a look at it and took it for a test drive and i was amazed and bought it right there and then ... its done 150k engine sounded sweet and having read up on them they will last 250k +... here in the uk is the first in a few years we have had some deep snow (well where i live it was 6-8 inches the yota had no problems i even overtook and quite annoyed some land rover defender drivers 'stuck' :eyebrows: mmm welll so on with my story.. i was going to change the filter and oil as soon as i got it but being as ive only owned little cars and not trucks the tool i had to remove the filter was too small and by the time i realised i already drained the oil hah so its just had new oil, it had a few pieces of rust mainly on the boot door... being i live in the uk there are not many 4 runners here so there arnt many parts so i went to my nearest scrap yard and found a surf stole the boot door from it and today i stuck it on the back of the 4runner
...
i have a few questions now:
i have noticed a rattle coming from about 1500rpm -2000 cant figure out what it is it gets faster as the revs go up im thinking turbo but i havnt noticed any power loss what so ever and its not drinking oil or water. the last timing belt change was at 59k so it may be a worn belt.
also another common fault i've read is that there are rear boot window problems.. yes i have them but it goes up and down fine but there is about half a inch gap where it doesnt go up all the way :croc: any ideas?
and how can i tell if mines had a body lift ? whats the standard height and where do i measure from.. mine seems quite high
ill upload pics of my beast shorty
