Hey, so I just got my first 4runner it's a 96 3.4l 2wd. Original owner I have all the paperwork on every part he's ever fixed. Thing drives like it's brand new. Anyway he had the air filter changed right before I got it and the check engine light came on after. He planned on taking it back but I bought it. I figured it's a dirty maf because... it is super dirty lol. Its 0 degrees now though so I'm pulling it and cleaning it tomorrow.

Here's my question. I pulled the codes on the check engine and I have a miss in cylander 4 and its saying both 02 sensors are shot. I'm new to 4runners so I'm just wondering if the maf can be so dirty it would do that or am I putting in two new 02 sensors tomorrow as well?

A bad or dirty maf may cause a P0171 which can also be caused by a vacuum leak or bad pre-cat O2 sensor. Since you just bought it I would change them just as a baseline since they probably are very old anyway.

Yeah I'm just going to change them all. I see a few cracked vacuum lines too. You can tell the guy never did a thing to the car himself. All the major stuff is done but all the dome lights were burnt out. Needed wipers etc. So I'll do the vac lines too.

Just found out the rear sprayer doesn't work either. Motor runs but no fluid. I held it for a while and it's topped off. Hopefully the leak is visible because I'm not taking the whole car apart for that. Lol
