Hi, I just picked up a 06 4Runner and have been stalking your board, I thought it was time to introduce myself.

10 years ago I had a 95 4runner with a 5speed that I loved until some idiot (me) rolled it. I traded my jeep TJ in for my new (to me) 2006 and it's been great so far. The TJ was fun but not very practicle, can't even fit a fishing rod in it....

The 4runner has a slight hum \ vibration when I first fr take off and turn. Need to figure that out, I'm thinking a ball joint?

Where in philly are you?
Could be a few things, can you describe the noise some more? at what speeds does it happen? anything make it worse or better?

I'd check for play in the wheel and BJs - I'd guess wheel bearing off the bat

^^^^what he said and also might be diff fluid being old. i had that on my t4r before i swithced to redline mt90

The sound is usually just a quick burst, not real Loud, and goes away at 10mph and occurs more at turns. Sometimes I hear it at 25 mph-ish. Its a faint hum almost the sound of tires rubbing.

I'm in Fishtown.
