Im new to this forum. I am in Michigan. What would you guys recommend for a used 4runner for around 10-14k? I am not quite sure how all the different generations break down with options. What generation is the all around best? Thanks Jon

The 10-14k range is going to get you a really nice, low miles, loaded 2001 or 2002 (last of the 3rd gen), or a higher miles (and possibly poorly maintained) 2003-2005 (start of the 4th generation).

3rd:1996-2002
4th:2003-2009

Me personally, I would recommend the 3rd gen because I have one and know how reliable they are. Others may beg to differ. But for your price range, you will get a higher quality vehicle with a 2001-2002.
