Hi, I have a 2003 toyota 4runner limited v8 135,000miles. I started my car and left my home. 2blocks i stopped at a stop sign, well i hit the gas and it jerked. I got to the stop light and decided to turn off the vechicle. Turn it back on VSCF, and egine light popped up. While I had been driving the the rpms were revving very HIGH. I decided to take it back home only 5-8min. driving on it. What could be wrong. Transmission problem? Would flushing help? Thank you

Well recently i had a minor accident, some guy backed into my 4runner. His car was a nissian titan Truck!!! No engine damage, but could the mechanic been fooling around with transmission there? I brought the car back to the mechanic, since cage underneath was hanging. i don't know what to call this, but it was hanging off wasn't fully screwed.
Would flushing help? I feel that it's a transmission problem

i think i'm going back to that auto body, since A) my car was fine, untill i brought it to them. i mean i got 130,000miles on a 2003, but i don't believe a transmission should be failing.

Unless you have documentation to prove otherwise a trans fluid change is definately in order for that kind of mileage. The 4Runner uses a special fluid so be careful if using non-dealer service. A shop that specializes in Toyotas will know all about it. A quick-lube place may use the wrong type of fluid without even knowing they're doing something wrong.
Right now it almost sounds as though the fluid level may be low. 1st thing I'd check the level according to the method in the manual. Rather than drive it low on fluid I'd add fluid to get it to the correct level ASAP (if it's low).

I had a body shop pinch a transmission cooler one time...
1) Have them confirm there are no line pinches.
2) Have them verify there are no leaks.
3) Make sure the fluid level is correct.
4) Have the fluid changed by a Toyota specialty shop or dealer. Based on mileage I'd get the fluid in both axles and the transfer case fluid done too..
