HELP!!! Antenna Replacement

So I went to the local Canadian Tire and picked up an antenna to replace my broken one. But, its not working out so well.

Here is what I'm working with:

<a href="http://s1286.photobucket.com/user/Downeys4Runner/media/IMG_00000045_zps5b62d20c.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/a612/Downeys4Runner/IMG_00000045_zps5b62d20c.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo IMG_00000045_zps5b62d20c.jpg"/></a>

There is the Antenna itself, then the two different sized pieces that go on the bottom of the antenna on the right. Then the Adapters on the left. I'm not sure what I can do her to make this work with the existing system.

Heres the problem:

<a href="http://s1286.photobucket.com/user/Downeys4Runner/media/IMG_00000043_zps1803c8eb.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/a612/Downeys4Runner/IMG_00000043_zps1803c8eb.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo IMG_00000043_zps1803c8eb.jpg"/></a>

As you can see there is no where to attach the adapter to. Is there any way I can make this work? Or do I return and buy a different antenna?

I can't really see from the picture, but you may want to return it and get a set up that includes the antenna wire. It is really easy to run the wire the same place the stock wire is to the receiver. I bought a universal kit from Wal-Mart. There's pictures in my garage. My particular antenna has horrible range (its discontinued) so I will be doing the Taco Whip Mod sometime in the next few months.

I just returned what I had and got one that's like that but still is a fender position. Question though... It has the male wire connection but, I don't know if I want to try to run it all the way through to the radio. I would rather cut and sauder the two wires together.

Is this a bad idea?

Or is it easy to run the wire through to the radio? Also is 4' of wire long enough if I were to run a new wire?

S*** didn't see your post! Thats the exact one I have! So just run the wire?

Stick it above the rear view mirror. Run the ground wire(the silver braded wire), to one of the screws to that holds the mirror to the roof. Run the antenna wire along the headliner, down the a-pillar, and to along the dash, and behind the dash. Connect the antenna into the radio, and the power wire to one of the hot accessory wires behind the dash.

I'm running this antenna, and it's great. The reason it's powered is because its an amp, and I pick up stations at least another 50 miles out. It's nice on long drives. :)

I can get pics for you if you need.

Just yesterday I did the Taco Whip mod. It was a little painful getting the radio out far enough to plug in the new antenna. Running the wire was fairly easy and I think 4 feet is long enough. I just cut the old antenna wire and left it in place.

Antennae

Doc2012:
Did you remove the old ant. from the fender when you added the window mount? I would love to remove mine but can't decide how to fill the hole without repainting. Also, where exactly did you mount the new one from Crutchfield?
Thanks, the Wandering One

The stock antenna is still there, in the down position. It doesn't move. I'll get you pics of mine tomorrow.
