Help Confirm Wheel Fitment

Need some help in confirming the math on a new set of wheels I'm looking to get. Need new rubber and the stock sport wheels have run their course and have seen better days.

I've got my eyes set on the ICON Rebound (17" 'REBOUND' Wheel, Bronze Finish) that are 17x8.5 with a 0mm offset. My primary focus is that with the new set of wheels I can finally ditch (which have served me well) the Spidertrax 1.25" spacers that I've had to run with my 285/70R17 Duratracs to obviously clear my UCA's.

So far I think I'm good or close with this math:

OEM Sport wheel: 17x7.5 ET30 plus Spidertrax 1.25" spacer (31.75mm or 32mm rounded up) is a -2mm offset.

ICON Rebound: 17x8.5 ET0

This would make the tire sidewall about 2mm closer to the suspension which I think should be negligible and work.

Thoughts?

Here's a handy site to show comparisons: rimsntires.com
Thanks! I actually use that site a lot. Things seem pretty tight and close as it is I was looking for some real world feedback.

One of the things I'm looking for in a wheel is a center bore matching ours since I don't want to have to deal with ring adaptors so this definitely narrows down choices. FN Wheels and these ICONs seem to be my two big choices.

I have FN wheels. They are awesome! Dustin at FN wheels is a great guy too.

Since the tire is wider than the rim, the offset (relative position of the center of tire) is going to be your most important measure. I think your 2mm closer calculation is the most accurate guess, but the larger rim width may also affect the profile of the tire sidewall, which could potentially impact clearance (slightly, but we're talking small fractions of an inch here).

You might rub the front sway bar at full lock (if you still have one, and depending on tire brand/true size) but should fit fine. That's a very common Toyota fitment.

Thanks all for the replies.

I guess to simplify this, my question should be: For those running 285/70R17 or wider/taller tires on their trucks with aftermarket wheels and no wheel adapters of any kind, what offset and backspacing are you generally running? This really isn't a question of what brand you can recommend, rather what sizing actually works. I've already gone through the typical trimming and cutting to fit what I currently have in place. I have no rubbing issues with any components the way I sit now. Just trying to avoid an expensive mistake if I don't get this right.

I think "typical" for these rigs and 285's is anywhere between 0 and -12 offset. Several factors come into play such as alignment and cutting/trimming and BMC. But I think specifically to your question your 17x8.5 0 offset should clear the UCA.
