Hey so I went on my first4wheeling trip yesterday in the 4runner with no problems and drove it this morning running around town with no problems. Then I fire it up to run to the grocery store this afternoon and both my fiance and I notice that it smelled overwhelmingly of gas. That smell died off and then the AT started acting funny. It shifted up or down irregularly and then when I let off the gas it seemed like it did not want to go at all, almost like I would downshift to reduce speed when driving a MT.
I am trying to avoid taking it to a mechanic if at all possible and I work out of town and won't have time to look at it until next weekend and so if anyone has any ideas to help me jump start the trouble shooting process, it would be greatly appreciated.
