Help Finding Lift Thread (Not the Stikied One)

I had found a very detailed life thread about an hour ago, and part way through we had a momentary loss in power. Suffice to say, I can't find the thread anymore. For the life of me, I can't remember if it was on this site, yota tech, or somewhere else.

The OP of the thread went into considerable detail describing their personal experiences with different springs/struts/shocks and I'm trying to find it again. If anyone thinks they may know just which thread I'm talking about, please share the info here!

No problem! :) This was the thread I used to make my decision to go with the Tundra setup... stayed up for hours in the middle of the night, reading the entire thing! lol!

I went with almost the same setup. Instead of running Tacoma front shocks, I am running Tundra front shocks. The ride is nice and flexy and really shines on the highway.
 
I'm glad to hear you guys like this post as much as I do! I figure this guy has had so many first hand experiences with different lifts, that I'd take this as my first route. I'm not looking for a ton of lift, but I figure with the shot out springs, I may as well get a little bit in there ;)
 
I'm not sure if that thread outlines this.... but if you're wanting to clear bigger tires (285/75/R16's), you'll want to get a ToyTech Top plate spacer. It comes with longer studs, in order to bolt up nice in the stock location, and should be around $60.00. I used the complete strut assemblies from the Tundra, and simply swapped the top plate for the 4Runner top plate. You will still have to do some trimming on your lower part of the front bumper, and may have to remove your front mudflap. (I did).

Also, not sure if you've looked at REAR lifts?? The front coils out of an 80 Series Landcruiser will net you a good 4" of lift or more, and give you a rakes stance. (that's what I'm running). These coils can be found at Salvage Yards, or in the Classified ads on Pirate 4X4, or other sites for Landcruiser drivers. (I got mine for free, from someone locally! :) )
