Help: Footwell LED wiring

I tapped into the wiring for the door light, the one that comes on with the doors open(don't know what it's called). But, the LED strip is extremely dim. It's possible I tapped into the wrong wires, but it does turn on and off appropriately with the doors.

Anybody know why this is happening?

What are the specs on the Leds? Where exactly did you tap into for the + and - wires.

Thanks man I figured it out... well kinda. I had that write-up saved, was trying to avoid having to pull that stuff down. Ended up doing it like that anyways, except I didn't use a switch. It woulda been nice to use the doors cuz it's so easy to access but it works now so I can't complain!!!
