Help: Front Coil Color Codes for 3rd Gen 4runner

Need your help here, 3rd gen experts... I have these front springs that I am going to install, but the guy I bought them from did not label them drivers and passengers. :frusty:

Description: appears to be stock T4R springs with blue/blue markings on one, and red/blue on the other. Can anyone tell me which one is drivers side, and which is passengers?

I have searched T4R and the web, but cannot find the info. Please help. If somehow I am being a dumbass and the info is easy to find, tell me where to look... :help:

I think you might be right. And I might be wrong in my assertion that these are stock springs. I found this tonight in searching all over the place.

These could be from a TRD 4x4 AC. I'm running yellow/red, yellow/purple from a 2wd TRD AC. They gave me 1-1/2" of lift without spacer. The ride and performance are great. I would give them a try. If you do post the results. Here is some info I found when I researched Tundra coils:

Stock 4x2 AC:
driver side = white/yellow marks
passenger side = white/blue marks

Stock 4x4 AC: 7/8" Lift
driver side = green/yellow marks
passenger side = green/blue marks

TRD 4x2 AC: 1-1/2” Lift
driver side = yellow/red marks, orange/red marks
passenger side = yellow/purple marks, orange/orange marks

TRD 4x4 AC: Lift?
driver side = yellow/yellow marks, Blue/orange marks, Blue/Blue marks
passenger side = yellow/blue marks, Blue/Red marks, blue/green marks, Green/Green marks

Sure hope it is right.. guess I will find out over the weekend when I install them with the new shocks.

I have fairly new factory 'tall' coils, still had the tags with part # on them not too long ago, and they have these same markings. They were installed by a Toyota dealership in April of 2013. My driver's side is blue/red and passenger side blue/blue. My truck sits perfectly level in front, 21.5" center of hub to fender(limited). Hope this helps

Appreciate the information. I need to ask if you can post on pics of the front drivers and passengers side springs./struts. I am actually using the same spring/shock package (KYB mono-max) you are, but will be adding spacers as well.

At any rate, let me know if you would be up to snapping a few photos and helping me out by posting them or sending via PM. THanks!
 
Sorry I didn't reply earlier, haven't checked my email today until now... but I took a couple of pics right now out in the garage, not the best but hope they'll do.
They're both from behind the front tires looking forward, first one is driver's side.

I hate to tell you, but those aren't the factory 'tall' coils. Those are Blue/Pink(left) & Blue/Yellow (right) in front and Green/Red in back (the green is halfway to yellow).

Part Numbers:
Front right 48131-35400 L=368mm
Front left 48131-35350 L=374mm
Rears ( same for both ) 48231-35210

So maybe they are TRD.

Hmmm, that's not necessarily a bad thing to hear, thanks. I just went and found the service order from Longo Toyota in el Monte, CA. Rears were replaced with factory coils, part 48231-35150 (orange markings), fronts are not mentioned so you're probably right. Rears are mentioned as a recall, 4/29/13 work was performed.

I just find it odd that if these are TRD fronts, they sit level with the factory coils in the rear which were part of the rear sag recall (or is that not odd?). My height is roughly 21.5" center hub to fender almost all the way around, with the rears maybe 1/4" higher with no load. KYB monomax on all corners, ride in front is fairly stiff.

I also heard that color codes can change... Toyota seems to ignore the colors and go by part #, or so I hear. Makes me wonder if they would ever use the same colors for different springs. Kinda kickin' my own ass that I threw those part # tags away.. now I'm going to be wondering which springs I really do have. Thanks for the info though, at this point I'm just trying to throw all my info out so we can figure out if we do all indeed have the TRD springs or just a variation of factory coils.
 
Guys - thanks for the information and photos. I was MIA for the last week since I started a new job across town. I installed them blue/red on drivers side and blue/blue on passengers side. It sits perfect level (side to side) in front, and the back is level too with the OME setup I installed.

I can't really contribute to the height conversation, as I put 2" spacers on the front and OME 3" lift on the back. Got it aligned yesterday, and today will put approx 70 miles on it going to work and running errands.

Just bought a set just like this today
 
It may be a couple of years late, but there seems to be a lot of confusion on this issue. I just checked my 1998 Limited 4WD V6 4Runner, and the driver's side has blu/red, passenger side has blu/blu--untouched from the factory. I'm finally changing to Bilstein 5100 shocks, 24-248730 front, 24-249966 rear and OME 2906 rear springs. OME 2906 increased lift about 1.25 inches over the existing factory original; rear height is now 22.25 inches from the center of the wheel to the fender.

old thread...but new question.

My 2001 needs shocks and springs....I want to do a lift..but that will be late summer the way things are going and whats on this rig is completely shot...rears and drivers front are leaking ( shocks)

however from one of my other past projects I have a set of rear springs and a set of fronts assembled on kyb shocks.

however...looking at lift thread and this thread, im not sure what they are and what side goes where, The color codes dont match talls. I did have another 2000 parts car very very briefly years back that supposedly had newish suspension, thats why I kept these around......anyway.....

what I did with my talls from a previous lift...who knows...

so what I got is.....

fronts:
one set of springs is yellow and white
one set is pink and white...well maybe faded red and white

any ideas on what they are and what color code goes to what side for fronts....

dont see any colors on rears
