Thanks - when you say you were able to clean it up, do you mean you were able to remove the rubber completely?

For the game controller I basically used some Simple Green to clean it up then rubbed the sticky part off.

Each rubber compound is a little different so you might start be seeing if you can rub the sticky stuff off. Then go to cleaning agents after that.
