Help! How to install 2006 XSP power seats in an 03 SR5

Thanks for peaking. I recently bought a set of leather/suede power front seats (pass and driver have power) and rear seats from a 2006 XSP 4R (an SR5 that had options like the leather seats installed at the port, in this case, Florida). I have a 2003 SR5. Seeing as how most of the parts are the same between the 03-05 and 05-09, I figured my 03 front seats would be wired for power. Definitely not the case. In fact, neither of the factory harnesses (pass or drivers) will plug into the seat. Is it easy enough to install some 2006 power seat harnesses, hopefully with a junction not that far from the seat, or am I just SOL? I can post pics tomorrow if that helps.

[MENTION=18304]pearlj10[/MENTION]: Well, for laughs, I looked up OEM harnesses for an '06, and to my dismay, it appears that the Runner has three MAJOR harnesses that run from firewall to the back of the vehicle. One on the driver side, one on the passenger side and one along the cieling.

As you can see, the two floor harness' includes many, MANY connection points for different components of the vehicle, power seats included. And new, they run around $700.00 per side. At this point (assuming that you are not willing to drop $1,400.00 for new harnesses), your only choices are A) hit a junk yard and yank some connectors from a salvage to splice into existing harness or seats, B) attempt to fabricate your own, or C) sell the seats on Craigslist. Sorry about that.

The harness from a 2003 is different from a 2006. I bought 2006 seats and had to splice the cars connectors. Good luck.

Thanks for the replies. Bamma: did you have a portion of the factory harness, from the fire wall to seats, and splice that into you existing wiring, or did you run your own wires and tap those into the factory harness? Thanks

Also, anyone know if I get sr5 harnesses from a 2006 (part numbers 82162-35712 and 82161-35690) if those will work as donors? I'm guessing so since the XSP that the seats are from were basically a pimped out SR5. Thanks

The harness from a 2003 is different from a 2006. I bought 2006 seats and had to splice the cars connectors. Good luck.

Er, yes, that was exactly the point that I was trying to make. He has an '03 yet requires harness connectors to match '06 seats. The schematic I posted was for a 2006 Runner so that he could see what that year vehicle has.

I tapped into the wiring that was already there.

Reviving this thread in the hopes that someone can chime in on specific instructions to splice into my 03 SR-5 wiring to get 06 power seats running. I will ship beer (or, better yet, a free pair of my awesome rear extended sway bar links!!!!!) to anyone willing to assist! Thanks

Isn't there already a harness there for the power seats, even if the truck didn't come with them?

Do you happen to have a pic of the XSP connector that comes from the seat?
