Help, ideas on oem antenna replace 3rd gen?

I recently purchased a 98 limited with the power antenna option. Found the radio reception to be pretty bad and found that the top nut and grommet holding the antenna to the fender panel had come off and the power antenna was being held up by the antenna coax cable through the fender wall grommet. Anyways needless to say the fender wall grommet popped off and the coax cable is cut. Is it easier to get a different antenna or should I try to replace the original cable?

Any ideas?

Thanks!:thanks:

I know of a few guys who replaced the power antenna with the Tacoma whip antenna, as those do get better reception. You also need one if you intend to get a snorkel as the motor for the power antenna gets in the way of the intake tube. Anyways, That's something I have been meaning to do after mine went through a car wash while up, ruined the motor or something. A search for 'Tacoma antenna swap' might yield some results.
