I recently replaced the water pump and timing belt. I can't for the life of me find where this came from and somehow missed making note of it when everything came apart.

No idea what that is, but do you also have two bolts lying around that went into those holes? Maybe with washers?

That's a valid question.. funny thing is, no I do not.

Long story short is this project happened over a span of time (far more than it should be) and anything is possible. I tried to keep track of everything, but for some reason have no record of what this is/where it belongs.

That's part of the oil cooler mount.

Thanks. I was just digging through a video a few minutes ago and also ran into a section for the AC compressor that looked an awful lot like this as well - I'll check both when I dig back into it... oops.

Yeah if I recall correctly it bolts to a stud on the oil cooler and connects to the AC. Something like that.
