Looking to get brighter high and low and fog ight bulbs.
I am thinking about going yellow for fog lights and the high/low will be bright white... at least below 6000k brightness.
What will hold up and last longer off roading?
What do you prefer?
What is the best for snow? (I live in north idaho)
What is the difference between HID or LED?

HID and LED are very different. LED is simply that, a bulb that has LEDs on it that normally give off a whiter light. HID stands for High Intensity Discharge and they are very bright bulbs. They tend to require a ballast that "ignites" the bulb since the bulb is basically gas in a glass container that needs to be warmed up to emit light (extremely general/basic concept description lol).
At this point, I don't think many aftermarket LEDs are really ready for primetime lighting applications. People use HIDs all the time, but they tend to be more expensive and if you want to do HIDs, you should go with a decent kit.
People argue all the time about the validity of this, but I believe that yellow/orange is better for inclement weather, such as the snow you mentioned. It is a light that is easier on the eyes, doesn't reflect back as harshly, although it won't throw as far.
I used to use LEDs everywhere in my 4th gen. Hi/Low/Fog. I liked them but the overall output was a bit disappointing. I decided to swap back to halogen, but in the process I heard that you can mod H9 bulbs to fit H11 bulb locations, and you can mod HIR1/2 bulbs to fit 9005/9006 bulbs. I bought a decent set for Hi/Low/Fog and I am super happy. Got the halogen look which is better than pure white for bad weather, and a noticeable increase in output. I would look in to it. But then again, this is all my opinion and it's your truck, so do what you want!
