help me prove me friend is wrong

A friend of mine said modern cars' (maybe around 2000 and newer) transmissions don't last and once it hits around 250,000 KM (160,000 miles), it will start to see problems or fail.

I said no, that is not true for Toyota's especially 4th gen 4runners. Mine just hit 200,000 KM( 125,000 miles). I think they can go for about 400,000 KM ( 250,000miles) from what i understand.

Can you help me by providing me some stats?
If you had your tranny rebuilt, at what mileage?

My brothers 99 4runner same trans all the way up to 02, has more than 265,000 miles on it

I dont understand your post. nothing last forever and i understand that, but my point is, he is saying it will fail at the mileage i stated earlier, on average.
