Help me troubleshoot this noise.

I've got this weird noise that drives me nuts, and I'm afraid it's trying to tell me there's a problem. Unfortunately I have no idea what it's saying.
Happens only under load, and speed doesn't seem to be a factor (it does it at 20 mph and 50 mph). If I let off the gas, it goes away. If I put it in neutral, it goes away. And it doesn't do it if I rev the engine in neutral or park (in the driveway).

I shot a few video clips and threw them together, you can hear the sound pretty good in these clips.

I had a noise that was similar at times (it seemed to change depending on conditions). Try lubing the zerks on your driveshaft.
 
Pigeon in glove compartment?

It doesn't sound suspension/tire or engine related to me. That leaves transmission, transfer case, drive shaft and differential.
 
Thanks guys! Great thoughts. I'll get under there and see what I can grease down soon.
I was worried it sounded like bearings going out on something.

Mine that was squeaky was the rear driveshaft double carton joint. It had a zerk but the sound came back shortly after greasing. Im assuming it was dry for too long and damaged. I replaced the whole rear driveshaft for ~$100 with a donor driveshaft in great shape. It was like 8 bolts or so to remove/replace and 15 min of time.

If you're lucky and not suffering from the all too common rear driveshaft clunk with our 4runners and also common with Tacomas and Tundras, you may get away with just a few pumps of grease into the slip yoke grease fitting. Mine was giving me that bump feeling coming to a stop or just starting to roll from a stop since I bought it two years ago and I was pumping at least 3-5 pumps of grease every oil change with no reduction in the symptoms I was getting.

I recently pulled the slip yoke off the driveshaft and lubed it up really good with a Moly grease and re-installed it. The symptoms went away for a day and then came back. Then I found out from a member on our forum that Ford made a special grease to reduce slip yoke binding for their trucks. I bought the grease called Ford XG-8, pulled the slip yoke again, cleaned it up really good and greased it with the new Ford XG-8 teflon based grease. It's been a few hundred miles since the repair and I don't have the driveshaft bump or clunk anymore.

Another member recently has been trying to figure out the noise coming from under his truck too and a mechanic friend of his has determined it's coming from the front u-joint on the rear driveshaft. Then another member suggested just getting the whole driveshaft serviced with new u-joints and re-balancing. The full service of the driveshaft might be the way to go because if one u-joint is bad and the previous owner neglected to grease the zerk fittings, the other u-joints might be failing soon too. I just don't have any clue how much that would cost to get done. Maybe like somebody else suggested, just find a used one at a junkyard or online.
