Try to make the shortest possible. I Drive my truck a short distance each and every day to work with no problems. Last weekend I went on a long road trip and my check engine light as well as my VSC came on. Came home disconnected battery for a while ...reconnected and the light was gone. I drove all week back and forth to work and the light never came back on.until this weekend when I drove a long distance again the light came back on. Also during this time I have been having intermittent starting issues. I either turn the key and get only a click or sometimes I have to turn the key and hold it to get the truck to start after a short delay. Went to Autozone today and had the codes read...they are C1201...C1210...C1234...C1340...and P0420. with the starting issue I was thinking it was maybe the starter contacts but now I have no idea. please help

I think so...I am 2nd owner. I forgot to mention it flooded bad here a couple weeks ago and I had to go thru some pretty deep water...but only up to the belly....or roughly half way up frame rails.

what's up buddy.

If it was me, I would def check my tailpipe to see if any black residue has collected. If it is you are running pretty rich somewhere in your fuel delivery.

If it isn't the case, I imagine your o2 sensors are on the way out. In any case..at this age...good to replace and get the most accurate data for fueling possible! :)

Check your fuses to be safe too bud.

Based on first few codes maybe a speed sensor is bad..

Check tailpipe, fuel delivery, speed sensor, fuses

Ordered the starter rebuild kit ...gonna do that this weekend..cleared the lights again with a battery disconnect. Probably gonna try replacing the O2 sensors after we move.

C1201 is an engine control system related code

C1210 is a Yaw rate sensor

C1234 is Yaw rate circuit malfunction

C1340 is an open or short in the center differential locking circuit.

I would make an educated assumption that all your chassis codes are related to a single fault. AllData doesn't tell me which code to diagnose first, so I can't help there. As an Infiniti tech, I only have in depth access to Nissan wiring diagrams.

your VSC light is on as a result of the check engine light, and the P0420 is what's throwing the light. Depending on code priority, In my experience, Chassis codes don't normally throw a check engine light.

And you're more than welcomed to replace the A/F and 02 sensors, but you'd just be throwing parts at the P0420.

I was looking at Alldata also. Let me look at some other stuff that I have and see if I can find something in Motus.

Interesting. ..thanks for the input. I definately dont like throwing parts so I will try for more responses and do some more research.

I talked to a couple of my Techs. They are thinking a short some place possibly. It is hard because the truck is not in the shop. I would look at check the wiring harness up in the front end. Keep us posted.
