Help needed, Thinking bad break booster

So today driving around my brakes got suddenly stiffer. When I press the brake pedal it gives resistance but still stops my truck. The less I use my brakes the easier they are. but when i have to use them more, they get progressively stiffer. When i start my truck they are good. But the first time i hit the brakes, they stiffen. I have done all the checks on the vacuum lines, they look good. check valve is good. I have also done the press the gas for x amount of seconds and stuff. I have done everything i can think of except change the booster. Which is a $294 part. So if someone could please point me to a post or give me guidance. I have searched this forum up and down, along with yotatech. But i cant find someone with this same problem. PPlease help.

Thanks,

It's simple to check.
Remove the vacuum line form the brake booster and plug it, then go for a drive.
If the brakes stay the same as what you are experiencing now, it's likely the booster.
If they get noticeably worse, it's not the booster.

I had an issue with my 95 4Runner's break lines progressively get stiffer. Ended up being a small piece of of the break line internally flaked off creating a valve in the break line that would allow the break fluid in but not out.
