Help please: choose b/t two lifts

Just bought a 2015 SR5 4WD. love it.

Im looking to put the wheels/tires from my 2004 4Runner on the new ride. That set up is:
Wheels: Pro Comp 7105 (17x8) (offset +4.5)
Tires: Goodyear DuraTrac 285-70-17

I called two lifts places and got two very dif. suggestions. Need help deciding which path to take..

OPTION 1:
4Weel Drive suggested install 2 new struts on front; 2 new shocks on rear. No spacers needed, no lift kit. They suggested installing these models from ProComp:
EXPZX2080
EXPZX2083


OPTION 2:
Local 4x4 shop suggested installing this lift kit from Revtech. It contains spacers and rear shocks.

These are two very dif. solutions and I don't have enough expertise to determine which is best.
Both solutions have same costs. I want to make sure by wheel/tire set-up fits. And Im not sure how the front dif. drop would play into either of these options (to lower angel of CV axles).

The correct answer really depends on what your needs are. I would not recommend going with that generic procomp kit as Bilstein 5100's would be a better fit there.

I would suggest establishing what kind of terrain you are going to frequent and then having a look at this thread.

My buddy just got spacers and is just fine. A little trimming cause of rubbing. Same wheels and toyo 285-70- 17

Don't waste your time with 4WheelParts.

Do you plan to actually offroad the truck?

If so, skip those options and get a decent suspension... ARB OME or Toytec ultimate... a few hundred more but 100x better.

You do not need a diff drop.

They said I could swap the procomp with Bilsteins, in the first option.
Would that be a better option....jus swapping out front struts and rear shocks?

Or would that lift kit be better with the spacers?

By the way, not planning on doing too much off road. 95% road driving.

Go bilsteins, lift and better ride quality. Front are adjustable and can put a spacer in back if you want more height. Search around and you'll find plenty of pics.

What everyone else said. Don't waste you time with ProComp crap or a spacer in the front. Get Bilsteins on all four and new rear coils if you want an economical and functional suspension. This is what I have and have wheeled it in Moab and Colorado as well as locally. No, it's not as good as an Icon system, but it cost half as much as the most basic Icon setup and works fine for me.

Toytec ultimate or OME. Or if you have deep pockets, icon. Do it right the first time. Spacer lifted my tundra I had, re did it 3 months later the right way.

4Wheelparts is literally the worst place to go for anything

Procomp is a joke

most will say go 5100's all around, with SAW (SAW springs or daystar spacers) in the back

that will give you 1.75 or 2.5 inches in the front, and 1.5 or 2 in the back

its an economical, performance enhancing solution for someone with your needs.

I would assume that these shops could order anything really, aside from their recommendations. Why not do a little more research on here, determine what you want, and have them order/install for you?

That's a great starter offroad package, maybe the best for the money.

Since he says he'll just be on road though I'd go with the Bilstein front shocks and not worry about the rest for now. If OP dcides he wants more he can add other springs, etc later.

Or $600 if you want a bolt on job that anyone can do in their garage plus better springs:

I'd do that second one because by the time you pay a mechanic to put it on a lift you'll have paid at least half the difference and install is literally a couple bolts, a jack, and an over rated level of satisfaction from having done it yourself.:rockon:

Billstein, OME or Icon Stage 1. I would stay away from spacers. Think about adjustable shocks if you want more control over the ride between on-road and off-road.
