Help Please: Low Idle Problem

Hi all, today I installed a couple of accessory lights on the rear of my 4runner and all seemed well. The lights worked and my truck ran just fine. I drove about 10 minutes about an hour after this and my 4r started to idle extremely low and stalled out once. I disconnected the setup that I had just installed and I am still idling close to 400 RPMs when in park and when I slow down. I started the car and using a voltmeter measured the battery to be 12.4v while running and idling at about 400 RPM. This is the same measure as when the car was off. Does this mean that I somehow ruined my alternator in the process of installing my new lights? That doesn't seem likely to me. Could I have blown a fuse to the alternator? The setup I installed was 2 27watt led lights with a powered switch and relay. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Check all your fuses including the high amperage 140amp that is for the Alternator.

It could be that your alternator just decided to give up the ghost coincidenatlly as you installed an additional load on it (it could have just been at the edge for all we know.) Or you may have blown a fuse that controls the alternator and/or allows the alternator to supply power to the vehicle.

Since none of us are there to see how you installed the lights and what power sources you used, we can't exactly diagnose the vehicle effectively. But based on the fact you're not seeing about 13.5~14v at the battery when idling, it sounds like the alternator is not functioning at all.
