Update 2
Hi Guys,
I tried to post a update last night but every time I tried to go to this site I was routed to some BS site called something like "jforjustice.co.uk". It even happened to me with a different browser. Did this happen to anyone else? I ran a full security scan of my pc and it was clean.
Anyway, the WD-40 soaking it over night loosened it a little. Rubber is only around the base of the plug and is just enough to stop a socket from getting on there. I took a picture and it is actually more legible than I thought it would be. You can see in the picture that the plug is clean except around the base of the plug where the rubber debri is hiding the base of the plug that the socket goes on.
I worked at it for several hours from everything from needle nose pliers, screw driver (too big), dental pics (too short), coat hanger (bends too much) and made some progress but not much. So last night I put enough "Goof Off" in there to cover the rubber over night, hoping it would dissolve it.
Today I am going to try to scrape it with the Goof-Off still in there and then shop vac out the Goof-Off, blow it out with air and continue scraping. I also am going to remove another plug and see if the heat shield tube that lines the hole will come out with the plug removed. If it will I am going to use what I call a "rescue socket" by Irwin that has teeth on it for rescuing a stripped bolt, maybe it will cut through the rubber enough to break the plug free. If it will then I am going to stop as soon as I get it broke loose and blow the hole out again with air before removing the plug from the threads. Then remove the plug and the heat shield and replace it with another shield. I really don't want to pull that valve cover.
