CAN-03runner

Hi, I need help to price a 1st gen 4runner. I think it's time to let it go. Just when I have her running more or less like I want it, life hits and I think I need to let it go.

How would you price this truck.

1984, V6,solid axle, solid frame, solid body, no rust, no holes in the floor. 4-6" lift, no leaks, does not over heat

IFS width rear, welded rear diff, 4.88 gears, hand brake works, tailgate window works

ARB front locker, 4.88 gears , 30 spline longfields and longfield chromo hub gears, new bearings, full rebuild, knuckles are dry, hi-steer

Virtually new clutch, 4x4, 4Lo, and locking hubs click and lock all of the time.

33" Mud Tires, starts everytime. Also 2nd set of 31" /snow-ice tires for the winter

12000# winch

rock sliders to be installed, in box, new shackles and bushings to be installed still in box.

spare parts like extra seats, door windows, grill, dash, lights, front axles, drive shafts, just random stuff that I'll just stick in the bed.

Boo. :(

For reference, a buddy here just sold an '88 22RE with Chevy/RUF, duals w/4.7, 5.29s, dual elockers, winch, armor, 37" MTRs and a mildly beat body for $4000.

Crawlers ain't selling like they used to. Too many side by sides, I expect. Have a look at what Rockdawg84 has his '84 listed for in the classifieds... :pout:

Yeah saw it. It's a bargain.

Many people are scared away by a big price and think that they can start with a cheap stock truck and build it for cheaper than a built up truck or semi built up truck.

there is one for sale here that has the 3.4 swapped and dual locked that has not yet sold for 6....

Has a lot of the same toys as you he has at least 35's just dropped the price to 5600 and it is still sitting it is a clean truck but the market just is not there.

I would say an easy 5k-8k is what I would ask for. Sucks that you gotta let that beast go man.

It does suck. 7-8K would be nice, but not likely.

Had an accident and could have lost my hand or even worse. Life gets put into perspective quick, and there aren't too many 2nd and 3rd chances. Time to focus on the kids, Bring the 4th gen back to light trail duty, camping, fishing, skiing, family time. I need to reclaim my garage, and clean my shed of spare parts.

I'm back from almost losing my mine

So I'm back. After months of back and forth in my mind, I almost lost my mind, and sold both my 1st gen and 4th gen and came 2 minutes to making an offer on a Jeep Rubicon. A yellow one even.

Hi I'm Can-03 and I'm a recovering "almost jeep owner"

I'm off the juice now.

And purchased a set of 4.7 gears and V6 adapter for the tcase instead

:surfer: Ahhhhh I'm feeling much better now

Nice! Welcome back! :decision:

I just did the tcase gears behind my v6. Wasnt that bad at all.

Did you try it yet. How much better is it now.

The only issue I haven't figured out yet is which crossmember.

Talked to lowrange and budbuilt

Truck is an 84 converted to 3.0V6 5 speed.

So, up in the air is which cross member to use. 4cyl or 6cyl. Bud also has this adapter for dual case to single case, so that later if/when you go duals you already have the dual crossmember.

Bud's recommendation is mount it, and then test fit with stock 4cyl and stock 6 cyl crossmember to figure out which to you.

Or I could just use that collar style tcase holder and it won't matter. But I like Budbuilt. He's really good to talk to on the phone for service and a super nice guy. So I want to buy his product.

Its much better, about twice as low. My truck started as a v6 and I have the budbuilt v6 cross member, and everything lined up perfect!

I dont know the difference between v6 and 4cly (or auto/manual0 crossmembers, but I bet Bud does.
