Help replacing running board lights on 2004 4Runner

I needs some qualified comments on replacing the lights on the running boards. Moreover, I need to understand how to actually remove the bulbs to place them. I just cant seem to see how to access the bulb area.

Those lights a real pain, you basically have to get under the running board and look up, then try and twist the socket until it pops out.

They put so little extra wire in there, on one of mine when I tried to twist it the wire pulled out of the socket. Had to fix that before putting the light back in. ticked me off that they made them so difficult to get too.
